How to Trade

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  1. Enough tokens in your wallet for the order.
  2. Some native tokens (ETH, MATIC, PLS, etc.) to pay for gas fees.
  3. A clear idea of your target price and strategy.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Connect Your Wallet

Connect your Web3 wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.) to the EMPX interface.

2. Choose Your Order Type

  • SELL: Select this if you want to sell a volatile token for a stable token when price goes UP.
  • BUY: Select this if you want to buy a volatile token with a stable token when price goes DOWN.

3. Set Your Token Pair

  • Token In: The token you’re giving (depositing).
  • Token Out: The token you want to receive.

Note: Only whitelisted tokens can be used. For SELL orders, the output token must be whitelisted. For BUY orders, the input token must be whitelisted.

4. Enter Your Amount

Specify how much of the input token you want to trade. Make sure you have this amount in your wallet.

5. Set Your Target Price

This is the limit price at which your order will execute:

  • For SELL orders: Set the price you want to sell AT or ABOVE.
  • For BUY orders: Set the price you want to buy AT or BELOW.

Pro Tip: Check current market price first and set your limit price at a realistic target that might actually be reached.

6. Set Minimum Output Amount

This is your slippage protection – the minimum amount of output tokens you’re willing to accept. This prevents execution at unfavorable prices due to slippage or fees.

7. Choose Your Fill Mode

Select from No Partial Fill, Split 3, Split 5, Split 10, or Flexible based on your order size and strategy.

8. Set an Expiry Time

Choose a deadline for your order. After this time, if the order hasn’t executed, it expires and you can withdraw your tokens. Typical deadlines range from a few hours to several days or weeks.

9. Approve Token Spending

Click “Approve” and confirm the transaction in your wallet. This allows the EMPX contract to access your tokens when creating the order.

10. Create the Order

Click “Create Order” and confirm the transaction. Your tokens will be deposited into the escrow contract and your order will become active.

Monitoring

Your order is now active! You can:

  • View its status in your orders list.
  • Cancel it anytime before execution.
  • See partial fill progress if applicable.
  • Receive your output tokens automatically when it executes.
